Pricing Luxury Products and Services - Finding The Balance Between Attainable and Exclusive
Pricing luxury goods andservices is tricky. As with anything, cost of goods sold, profit margin, competition and market pressures play a role. But with luxury items, there are added factors that complicate things: Uniqueness, reputation, quality and authenticity are esoteric concepts that are difficultto price. Then there's perceived value - - if a product or service ispriced too low, will it be considered a "luxury"? If it's priced too high, will it be considered gluttonous or will it be attainable by enough people to drive revenue and be relevant.
